Statics by researchers has proved that algorithmic amplification is manipulating our lives; the outcomes of this invasive control can be devastating, exploiting vulnerabilities and increasing negative mental health.

This workshop will introduce learners to the business model of social media and understand the algorithms controlling their lives, enabling them to take back control and self-monitor their mental health reactions to their online activity.

  • De constructing unconscious bias and the consequences of hate speech.
  • Understanding the role of Influential individuals and celebrity on social media.
  • Astroturfing, bots, click bait and disinformation for profit.

Technology brought us into an age of mass information, however, has our online world evolved to become the age of misinformation.

A teaspoon of truth-This workshop will introduce learners to the propaganda machine that is currently commonplace on the internet, and how to become aware of disinformation, and most importantly, reintroduce critical thinking into every online activity.

This workshop will introduce learners to devise addiction, online challenges, cyberbullying, and online social approval exploring how social media can be detrimental to mental and physical wellbeing. In addition, this workshop aims to support the resilience required to thrive in an ever-increasing technological world.
